A cold rain

Cold waters tumble down on me tonight
blurred skies crying chilled sorrow and disdain
the lonely pavement weeps for secret lies
that my feet bare witness to in the rain.
the echoes of my delayed intrusion
become muted sighs in between the trees
as the flowers shiver in torn confusion
between hibernation and honey bees.
The four a.m. darkness is comforting
my blue umbrella keeps me warm and dry
as I ponder my aimless wandering
beneath ambiguous and lonely skies.
I must be searching for something dour
To be walking in the rain at this hour.

It's been a looooong time since I've attempted a sonnet. please forgive the lack of meter.
